On May 20, Viva artist Denise Esteban admitted that she cried during her first daring scene.
During the media conference for Secrets, Esteban recalled her first love scene in Kaliwaan with her co-star Felix Roco.
“‘Yung first na love scene ko, si Kuya Felix din, so noong first ko sa Kaliwaan, ‘yun medyo umiyak pa ako noon after.”
She clarified that she’s comfortable now showing off skin in movies.
“Naiyak ko kasi parang first time ko rin maghubad nun time na ‘yun eh. Parang ba’t ko ba ginagawa ‘to tapos naalala ko, pangarap ko nga pala ‘to so dapat tanggapin ko ‘to. Ngayon komportable naman na ako sa ganon.”
She also detailed how Viva gives her time to let go of her character with each project.
“Siguro ‘yung sa sunod-sunod na project, dapat talaga masanay ka na bitawan ‘yung character mo, doon sa movie mo na natapos mo na eh. Tsaka mayroon namang ilang weeks bago mag-start ulit ng bago. So ibibigay nila ‘yung script, kailangan mo ring mag-prepare para doon sa character na ibibigay sayo ulit.”
Esteban cited that she always pushes herself to do better with each project.
“Ako rin po hindi rin natatakot kasi kung magaling ako dito sa movie ko na nagawa ko po, alam ko sa sarili ko na kailangan ko pang mas galingan sa susunod.”
She then shared her reaction to people dubbing her as one of Viva’s favorite artists.
“Siguro hindi ko naman feel na number one, na paborito. Hindi ko naman naisip na paborito ako kasi, hindi ko naman naisip na competition siya sa mga other artists. Siguro lang napansin lang nila siguro, na nagalingan sila sa akin doon sa mga movies na nagawa ko siguro ‘yun po ‘yung reason.”
Secrets stars Viva artists Denise Esteban, Janelle Tee, Felix Roco, and Benz Sangalang. The film, directed by Jose Javier Reyes, premieres worldwide via Vivamax on June 10.
