Darren Espanto clarified his religion after one netizen accused him of being a youth member of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
The netizen claimed that the youth members of INC are openly advocating for presidential aspirant Leni Robredo.
A notion that INC church members will all vote for the same presidential candidate that their leader gets to endorse.
Darren officially came out as a Kakampink when he joined the Leni-Kiko campaign rally on April 27 held at Malolos City, Bulacan.
One netizen then claimed that Darren is an INC youth member and that he is openly endorsing Leni Robredo.
“What’s happening to Iglesia? It seems some youth members like the highly popular @Espanto2001 are openly backing @lenirobredo?” the netizen asked.

Darren then clarified that he is not a youth member of INC as he is a Roman Catholic.
“Hello po, Ms. @raissawriter. I’d just to clarify po that my family and I are all Roman Catholics,” he said along with a smiley face emoji.

Darren Espanto is not the only celebrity Generation Z kid that showed their support to the Leni-Kiko tandem.
Donny Pangilinan, Andrea Brillantes, Juan Karlos Labajo, and Belle Mariano previously came out as certified Kakampinks.
