On May 12, seasoned actress and former ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio revealed what she has been doing after retiring from corporate work.
During the media conference for her new talk show, Shine On, Overseas Pinoy, Santos-Concio said she’s into the study of Carl Jung and human behavior.
“I’m so much into the study of Carl Jung now, direct Psychology, because it makes me understand the human psyche better. It deepens my insight into humanity. And how people behave, and why people behave in a certain way.
“Pag nagbabasa ako ng mga kwento, mas lumalalim pa ‘yung insights ko tungkol sa katauhan.”
She also disclosed her passion for coaching, especially the young talents of ABS-CBN.
“And another thing, I love coaching our young talents. Medyo nakakatuwa because nakakapagturo ako ng mga you know, first impression–it’s always good to make a first good impression and good manners and right conduct is a must for anyone na humaharap sa ibang social situations.”
She noted the value of having an authentic character within each Kapamilya talents.
“So I’m just giving them the tools, but at the end of the day, I always tell them–the most important thing, this is just icing on the cake–the most important thing is there is an authentic character in each one of you, yun ang dalhin ninyo. Lahat ng panglabas ano lang yan, icing on the cake. Ang importante is what we see is the authentic person.”
Santos-Concio was the fifth president of ABS-CBN from 2008 to 2016. Aside from her stint in the media company, she also hosted the longest-running anthology series, Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Now she hosts a new talk show, Shine On, Overseas Pinoy, which highlights the stories of Overseas Filipino Workers and their experiences with finances. Catch Santos-Concio’s show in partnership with Sun Life starting May 14 through iWantTFC.
