In a facebook post on Thursday, May 12, the CEO of Brilliant Skin Essentials Miss Glenda Victorio defended Andrea Brillantes from netizens who wanted her removal as a product endorser.
Brillantes earned criticism following her statement about the 2022 elections results which was led by presidential candidate and former senator Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Victorio shared screenshots of comments from UniTeam supporters who criticized Brillantes. She urged everyone to stop the cancel culture.
“Di ba nga, pinagmamalaki natin na against tayo sa #cancelculture? Toxic ‘yon!” she wrote.
“People are calling me out to remove Andrea Brillantes, ilan lang ‘yan sa mga comments na nai-screenshot ko. Huwag naman sanang umabot sa sisirain nating yung packaging ng product katulad nito,” she said.
Victorio shared that she knew Brillantes personally and she loves her despite their different political views. Victorio is a supporter of Marcos and Duterte.
“Nakausap ko na rin ang manager niya at pinagsabihan naman yung bata… At alam kong pinagsisihan niya kung anuman yung pagkakamali niya.
“As much as we have differences in our political beliefs, I know Blythe personally and I love her very much. I don’t think anyone deserves the kind of bashing she is getting now. She is just as passionate as everyone else this election season and she may have said things out of intense emotions and impulse,” she stated.
She also asked everyone to spread love and understanding instead of hate.
“These past 8 months has truly been stressful for our country regardless of color. More than spreading hate, let’s spread love and understanding because it’s time for us to heal as one nation. Let’s be more compassionate to one another. We are after all Filipinos and babangon tayo altogether.
“Hindi lang for Brilliant Skin kundi pati na rin sa ibang brand, isipin n’yo nalang hindi lang napakaraming empleado ang umaasa dito kundi yung mga taong nabigyan ng maliit na hanapbuhay,” she added.
On Wednesday, May 11, Brillantes shared a meaningful statement about the May 2022 elections.
“Anumang ipukol sa akin, kailanman ay di ko pagsisisihan na ako’y nanindigan. Para ito sa lahat. Para ito sa bayan. Sa huli, isang Pilipinas lang ang ating pinaglalaban,” Brillantes wrote.
