On Monday, May 16, actor Paolo Contis admitted being concerned that he may no longer appear on the Kapuso gag show Bubble Gang.
The TV show, which will have a new format, also removed a chunk of its cast members as part of its new programming.
“May kaba iyon siyempre. May kaba kasi at the end of the day, lahat naman kayo, replaceable, ika nga,” he expressed during the show’s virtual media conference.
He remains part of Bubble Gang, along with Michael V., Chariz Solomon, Betong Sumaya, Sef Cadayona, Valeen Montenegro, Archie Alemania, Analyn Barro, Faye Lorenzo, and Kokoy de Santos. Tuesday Vargas, Faith Da Silva, Dasuri Choi, and Kim de Leon were also added into the mix.
As a comedian, however, Contis pointed out, “Pero ako, priority ko naman talaga yung comedy.”
The actor said he was forever grateful to GMA Network, with all of its plans regarding his career.
“Pero siyempre noong binigay sa akin ang I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, I’m thankful. Kung mayroon mang planong ibigay sa akin na bago, of course, I will be thankful.
“Ako naman nagtitiwala ako sa GMA whatever their decision is. Hindi naman ako ang tipong ng artista na gusto ko ganito, hingi ako ng ganito. Hindi rin ako nagfa-follow up kung anong susunod kong gagawin.
“So for now, I’m doing Bubble Gang and paminsan-minsan nag-All Out Sundays din ako,” explained Contis.
The Heart Evangelista-Richard Yap series also allowed him to showcase his inner Bicolano as he became an endorser of the Ako Bicol party list.
“After din ng I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, nag-focus ako sa pag-endorse ko ng Ako Bicol. Thankfully, naging maayos naman siya,” he thanked.
Contis continued, “We’ll see, after nito, kung ano ang susunod na plano. Ako naman hindi ako nanghihingi, naghihintay lang ako. Kung para sa kanila, kung ano yung deserve ko, that’s what I do.”
Those who will no longer appear in Bubble Gang are Mikoy Morales, Denise Barbacena, Liezel Lopez, Arra San Agustin, Lovely Abella, Ashley Rivera, Diego Llorico, Myka Flores, and pioneer Antonio Aquitania.
