On May 5, Viva artist Ariella Arida recalled her learnings from her movie Breathe Again about ending past relationships and risking a new one.
During the media conference for the Vivamax movie, Arida felt thankful that she got to experience her character.
“I think one of my learnings from this film, buti nagawa ko siya. I got to experience it–that if I’m in a long term relationship and then biglang I meet someone na nagpa-realize sa akin na something is wrong with my current relationship.Â
“I think yung learnings ko dito no, I can end my past relationship, to give respect to the guy, might start a new one and see what happens kasi, risk naman talaga ‘yung buhay, especially love. I can’t take both, kasi baka parehong mawala in the end, so it’s something I have to decide and risk.”
She admitted being afraid of karma if she cheated on her romantic partner.
“Natatakot ako sa karma po eh, baka panandaliang saya lang, pero ‘yung karma biglang dumating. So I think pwede namang i-end. It’s a big decision talaga na kailangan gawin, pero ako din, personality ko din naman ‘yun na hindi ko siya kayang i-overlap, I’d rather break up kahit masakit doon sa long term relationship na mayroon ako just to give a chance doon sa bagong dadating.”
Arida said she enjoyed the freediving training for her role in the Vivamax movie.
“Actually, I do scuba diving po pero, it’s very much, different sa free diving, kaya noong pinitch sa akin ‘yung character tapos free diver ako, super excited ako kasi it’s something that I want to try too. But we really, really had some training, me and Tony, together, para to do free diving.Â
“Kasi, akala ko personally, it would be easy na parang makikita nung tao, sisid ka lang, kumbaga parang sa swimming pool, sisid ka lang sa malalim. Pero, kailangan mo din ng technique as a role, kasi hindi siya basta, basta ginagawa without proper training. Kaya ako na-enjoy ko rin po kasi nagkaroon ako ng free course, sa free diving. So we really had training for this.”
Arida stars in the Viva movie Breathe Again, alongside Tony Labrusca and Ivan Padilla. Directed by Raffy Francisco, Breathe Again streams on Vivamax on June 3, 2022.
