The debuting series replaced The Broken Marriage Vow on the second timeslot for primetime drama, as the Jodi Sta. Maria-starrer adjusted to its new, late primetime slot.
If you think 2 Good 2 Be True’s advanced episodes on Netflix and iWantTFC have affected the Kapamilya Online Viewership–you’re wrong.
The show saw its concurrent live viewers shoot up to 120,000 and maintained it around the 100,000 mark throughout its pilot run.
That’s already impressive, given that it airs after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, which remains the most-watched drama on the platform with an average of 160,000 concurrent live viewers every night. The six-year-old show notably breached 230,000 viewers in late April.
Like The Broken Marriage Vow, 2 Good 2 Be True is also doing a special gap show for its Kapamilya Online Live Viewers, on its pilot week.
Lead stars of the show, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, as well as supporting actors Ronaldo Valdez, Gillian Vicencio, Via Antonio, and Matt Evans, graced the first night of the show, where the cast acknowledged the massive viewership they were getting.
The KathNiel comeback series first became available to the public via Netflix on Friday, May 13, and on iWantTFC on May 14. The move is to give eager fans to see episodes in advance, ahead of free TV and Kapamilya Online Live viewers. It also marks the first time a Filipino series is being streamed in advance on Netflix, which is arguably the biggest streaming platform in the world, right now.
With 2 Good 2 Be True, Kathryn and Daniel aka KathNiel reunite with the blockbuster film director, Mae Cruz-Alviar, who helmed two of their box-office grossing films, Crazy beautiful You (2015) and Can’t help Falling in Love (2017). The series is expected to last for six months on the air.
