The 12-year-old noontime show was among the most-watched Kapamilya shows on Saturday, April 2.
Vice Ganda’s 46th birthday celebration on It’s Showtime last Saturday, April 2, clearly made waves, not just online but also in the hearts of many Filipinos. The star-studded celebration on the show generated a 2.4% TV rating according to AGB Nielsen National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) data.
The show is the third most-watched Kapamilya show that day, after Rated Korina and Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK), which both rated 2.8% on the same day.
It’s Showtime ranked 17th overall, and was the second most-watched noontime show that day, after Eat Bulaga, which posted an unimpressive 4.2%, regardless of the GMA network’s nationwide coverage.
A part of the comedian-host’s birthday celebration was the special edition of the popular It’s Showtime segment, Sexy Babe.
For Vice Ganda’s birthday, the show decided to hold a special edition called Showtime SexyBeks: Tag-init ng Ulo Edition with the comedian’s dearest LGBTQIA+ friends as contestants. Pairs who joined were stand-up comedians Chad Kinis and Iyah Mina, Negi and Petite, and Lassy and MC bested out each other through wit and laughter.
Ultimately, the pair of Negi and Petite was declared the special edition’s winner.
The birthday celebration also saw the coming together of popular recording stars, Adie, Arthur Nery, Skusta Clee, and NOBITA, on one stage, as they serenaded the celebrant with their signature hit songs. Moira de la Torre, who currently holds the most streamed album on Spotify, also graced the show to give Vice a special rendition of her song. Comedian and social media personality, Awra Briguela, also performed a very special number, which SexyBeks contestants Negi and Petite were challenged to mimic.
Vice received greetings from some of the network’s biggest stars, including Regine Velasquez, Angel Locsin, and his fellow It’s Showtime hosts, Kim Chiu, Karylle, Amy Perez, Ryan Bang, Vhong Navarro, among others.
The comedian is currently on a short break and is expected to return to the show later this week.
