In this riot comedy, Gibbs and Agbayani play fugitives who disguised themselves as bus driver and conductor.
Janno Gibbs and Bayani Agbayani are two of the most in-demand comedians of the late ‘90s and early 2000’s.
That is true judging the number of commercially successful and popular projects they did, in both film and television. Coming from different TV networks that are considered to be tight rivals, the two comedians’ coming together in a film, seemed a very rare occasion in Philippine cinema.
In 2000, Agbayani and Gibbs starred the comedy film, Juan and Ted. The film was produced by the film studio, Viva Films. Helmed by director-actor, Al Tantay, Juan and Ted follows two fugitives who disguised as a school driver and a bus conductor, to escape authorities.
In the film, Gibss played Juancho and Agbayani played Ted. The two escaped prison to avoid the execution at the hands of Hepe (Jovit Moya) and Sgt. Langku (Boy Alano).
Blending with the crowd, Juan and Ted learned to assimilate with the community and began becoming ‘useful’ and productive citizens. They also developed a strong bond with the passengers of the bus, as they learned that each of the kids has a problem of their own. As the school they serve recognized they’re being an asset to both the school and the kids’ development, Ted was offered to continue his education for free. However, complications arise, when it was found out that they are both fugitives.
Juan and Ted’s cast also includes Anne Curtis, Maureen Larazabal, Vanna Garcia, Angela Velez, Inday Badiday, Inday Garutay, Chubi del Rosario, JR Trinidad, Marky Lopez, Rico J. Puno, Dan Salamante and Dagul. Al Tantay was also part of the acting cast through a very important role.
