Pokwang, Ogie Diaz, Robredo’s camp cry foul over sex tape allegations against VP Leni Robredo’s daughter

Comedians Pokwang and Ogie Diaz slammed trolls for involving one of the daughters of Vice President and Presidential aspirant Leni Robredo in an alleged sex tape.

The Robredo daughters again became a target of false information, but this time, linking Aika Robredo to a supposed leaked sex video.

Screenshots of the Google search result circulated on social media and are proliferated by pages supporting Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Robredo’s fiercest rival for the presidential race.

This fabrication of fake links alarmed Robredo’s supporters, who considered it a form of sexual harassment against Robredo’s daughter.

The Gabriela Partylist also flagged this as a misogynistic attack and believes that this “cheap, sexist” online attack aims to ruin Robredo’s rally for the Presidential seat.

“This latest sexist attack highlights the character of Philippine elections, where women are either made objects of pleasure or subjects of sexual intrigues to prop up someone’s candidacy,” Gabriela Partylist Rep. Arlene Brosas said.

Comedian cum vlogger Ogie Diaz urged the trolls behind this propaganda to think of their sisters and mothers or put themselves in the position of the Robredos.

Comedian-actress Pokwang seconded Diaz’s tweet, saying that these trolls have sold their conscience for the sake of money.

Chel Diokno, the senatorial aspirant under the Leni-Kiko banner, exposed this as their rival camp’s new ‘script’, whom he labeled as desperate considering Robredo’s continuous rating improvement.

@philbertdy pointed out that the other side is consistent with their misogynistic attacks to taint the image of women leaders, including Leila de Lima and Robredo.

Netizens and personalities also expressed their ire over the allegations of tagging Robredo’s daughter in a sex tape.

Robredo’s camp is also taking legal actions regarding this matter and has reported the fake links to concerned platforms for them to be taken down. They then advised supporters to ‘hold the line’ and control their temper.

“Our supporters should see this for what it is: A distraction. This is a direct and vile response to the momentum we continue to gain. It won’t yield votes for those who are spreading it,” he said. “That’s why the correct response here is for us to hold the line in love. Be firm but kind in correcting disinformation, even if it’s this shameless.”

“This is clearly a crime. And the way to defeat these once and for all: Let’s win the election, fix the system, and hold those who spread it accountable,” Robredo’s spokesperson, lawyer Barry Guttierez, said.

VP Robredo also reminded the netizens that the best way to combat fake news is to seek the truth.

Meanwhile, Aika remains determined in campaigning for her mother despite the allegations and is almost unbothered about the fake news.

Previously, the Robredo daughters were also accused of skipping the COVID-19 quarantine protocols after returning to the country from the USA. This was also debunked by Robredo’s camp and assured that Robredo’s daughter complied with the quarantine requirements.

As the election day approaches and Robredo continuously earns higher ratings in preliminary surveys, more propaganda from the rival camp are expected to circulate in the coming days.
