KC Concepcion will play the lead actress in an upcoming movie set in New York titled Asian Persuasion, replacing Toni Gonzaga for the role.
On April 12, Concepcion shared how grateful she is to be part of the said project.
“Onto day 3 of filming @asianpersuasionfilm! Thank you for joining us on this new journey. Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project, with our amazing cast & crew ♥️ @variety,” she captioned.
The lead actress was [initially] offered to Gonzaga, but she left the production due to conflicts in schedule.
“Set in New York, romantic comedy Asian Persuasion features a diverse, primarily Asian cast and seeks to elevate, inform and inspire the Asian narrative.
“The story follows a down-on-his-luck chef who cooks up a crazy scheme to marry off his ex-wife in his attempt to avoid his substantial alimony obligations.
“With the help of his trusted wingman, the chef gets off to a hot start, but belatedly realizes he wants a second chance with his ex,” the article on Variety stated.

Joining Concepcion in the film project are Dante Basco, Apl.de.Ap, Yam Concepcion, Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Scarlett Sher, Celia Au, Geneva Carr, Rachel Alejandro, Rex Navarrete, Jax Bacani, Tony Labrusca, among others.
Directed by Tony Award-winning producer Jhett Tolentino, Asian Persuasion will have its release in 2023.
