Talent manager cum vlogger Ogie Diaz responds to Andrea Brillantes’ revelation that she almost sued the latter for spreading fake news against her.
On April 11, Brillantes finally revealed that she had a two-year relationship with her co-star Seth Fedelin.
“Lahat ng fake news at pag-a-assume n’yo sa nangyari sa relasyon namin, hindi po totoo ‘yun. We ended in good terms. At ‘yun naman ang importante. Napag-usapan din namin — we promised each other na magpapatuloy pa rin kami sa work namin. Because we love each other as friends,” Brillantes said.
Seth and Andrea were launched as a love team after their stint in Kadenang Ginto.
She also admitted that she was upset when she saw Seth and Francine Diaz in one photo, pushing her to share cryptic posts on TikTok that created a buzz online in January.
“I had no contact with them when I saw the picture. So I made a TikTok which made everything worse. I know that I should have asked first, I should have consulted my managers before posting it or sana nanahimik na lang talaga ako. Pero sana man lang, guys, once maisip n’yo na tao lang din ako. And it was my first heartbreak and hindi ko talaga alam kung papaano siya iha-handle,” she said.
The TikTok video of Brillantes spurred the allegations that a third party involving Francine was the cause of their break-up.
When that rumors sparked, Ogie, via his Showbiz Update channel with Mama Loi and Tita Jegs, alleged that Brillantes confronted Francine in her dressing room because of jealousy.
This was also addressed by Brillantes on Monday, confirming that she thought of filing a case against those fake news peddlers, including Ogie.
“Hindi ho ako nanugod sa dressing room. Hindi ho talaga. I also don’t know where people got that. Ang alam ko lang may isang dummy account na nag-tweet. It’s funny because naniwala naman agad lahat sila kahit it’s just words.
“Pero kasi meron ding entertainment reporter, may public figure na sinabi yun sa vlog niya which made the alleged rumor more credible for people to believe,” she said, referring to Ogie.
“I was mad furious, and I wanted to file a case sa mga taong nagpakalat noon,” she added.
Ogie addressed Brillantes’ statement on April 13 via the same channel.
“Sa tingin mo nay, ikaw kaya ‘yun?,” Mama Loi asked Ogie
“Basta, ayon sa aking source, ganun ang nangyari. ‘Di naman nanugod siguro, pumunta sa kwarto para sabihing, ‘May love team tayo,’” Ogie reiterated.
However, Diaz respects Brillantes’s stand on the issue.
“Well, kung ang stand d’yan ni Andrea ay hindi totoo, so be it. Edi hindi totoo.”
Diaz also said no CCTV was installed inside the dressing rooms, so there will be no evidence to support the issue. But according to his source, some people witnessed the scene.
“For as long as alam mo yung totoo, alam mo yung naganap doon, hindi kailangan ng validation ng tao…ngayon, kung ito ang sinasabi ni Andrea na hindi ‘yun totoo, edi ibigay natin sa kanya ‘yun,” Ogie said.
