From a budding musician to a ‘fake news’ peddler.
This is how netizens characterized former The Voice PH and Idol Philippines contestant Dan Ombao after he went on a fake news spree on social media.
Ombao has caught the attention of the netizens after successively posting fake news posts and comments on his social media page.
Twitter handle @chakapusoPH shared one of his comments (which is currently missing or deleted) that lambasted Vice President Leni Robredo’s use of teleprompter in her speeches.
Ombao’s comments also include discrediting historical books as works of communists and praising prime fake news peddler Thinking Pinoy as the only credible fact-checker.
“Fact check sa books at internet na published ng mga communist hahahah ulo nyo fact check!
“Kwentong pangbata, naka prompter?….Lutang na naman utak ng mama nyo,” referring to VP Leni.
“Thinking Pinoy, the best na fact checker na kilala ko, sinisiraan ng pinklawan.”
In the tweet, @chakapusoPH mocked Ombao for possessing both–small dick and brains.
“Ok confirmed pag maliit ang tite, maliit din ang utak.”

@pr0t3go also shared another Ombao’s FB post comparing the achievements of Marcos Sr. and Pres. Duterte against the late presidents–Cory and Noynoy Aquino.
The netizen pointed out how Ombao knowingly or unknowingly disregarded the fact-checked note saying the post he’s sharing is “partly false information.”

Fellow Idol contestant and iDolls member Lucas Garcia meanwhile just laughed off when asked by netizens to comment on Ombao’s social media posts.

Ombao made a name following his stint in ABS-CBN’s singing search The Voice PH and Idol Philippines.
He first captured the attention of netizens and viewers during The Voice PH‘s battle rounds, where he faced the eventual winner and certified Kakampink volunteer Jason Dy.
Also, he joined Idol Philippines alongside other certified Kakampinks Lucas Garcia, Matty Juniosa, and Enzo Almario. Ombao again failed to advance in that competition.
