Senator JV Ejercito said there was no need for rebranding amid his campaign for senator at a media conference on April 11, 2022.
Ejercito noted that his jingle and political slogan already clicked with the masses.
“There’s no rebranding that’s happened no. Because it was already 2019, although latter part na, and I think nag-click ‘yun especially ‘yung jingle ko at ‘yung branding, I think kahit saan magpunta alam na nila ‘yung Good One, even kids, matatanda, lahat sila kinakanta ‘yung jingle ko.”
He then described his campaign for the 2022 elections as an uphill battle.
“You know with the challenges, wala akong partido, limited ang budget ko, may kasabay akong tumatakbo, minsan parang it’s an uphill battle from the very start. Napakahirap.”
He added that despite ranking in recent surveys, his campaign had its highs and lows.
“But for me to be ranking this high already at least pasok na ko sa top 12. Most are refurbs, minsan 12, minsan 7, minsan 8, so parang tingin ko dito muna ‘to eh, dito muna ito ng Diyos kasi napakabigat talaga ng pinagdadaanan ko. Kaya nga sabi ko highs and lows ang pagtakbo na ‘to.”
Ejercito stated that his motivation to still run for the Senate came from the warm reception from the public.
“But nagpapalakas ng loob sa akin, everytime I visit a province or cities in Metro Manila, ‘yung reception, ‘yung very warm reception ng tao. And the support, sinusuportahan pa ako ng mga mayors and governors that I’ve visited. Siguro with my performance and track record, ‘yun ‘yung nagpapalakas ng loob ko.”
Senator JV Ejercito was the principal author of the R.A. 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act, which Incumbent President Rodrigo Duterte signed on February 20, 2019.
JV Ejercito recently landed Pulse Asia’s Magic 12 survey for Senators in the 2022 elections. During the event, he vowed to monitor the progress of the Universal Health Care Law and focus on housing and job security through infrastructure development if he gets reelected.
