Actor-director John Lapus on Thursday, April 7, could not believe that the frequency of ABS-CBN was given to the ones who killed it in the first place.
Back in 2020, Rep. Camille, the youngest and only daughter of business mogul Manny Villar, voted to reject the franchise renewal application of the Kapamilya Network, preventing it from returning on air.
She is vying for another term as representative of Las Piñas this coming election.
Disgusted, Lapus tweeted with an angry emoticon, “Grabe tapos nasa kanila na ngayon.”
He shared the tweet of the National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP) reminding them not to vote for Rep. Villar and her cohorts who refused to renew ABS-CBN’s franchise license.

Congresswoman Villar’s father now owns channels 2 and 16, the frequencies used by ABS-CBN before it got booted off the air.
He operates it through his own media network Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS).
In 2021, the Las Piñas representative drew flak after appearing in the Your Face Sounds Familiar grand finals to award the house and lot prize to the grand prize winner, Klarisse De Guzman.
After it received 70 votes versus 11 votes from the House of Representatives, and despite clearing the allegations–ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application got rejected in 2020 still.
It compelled the media company to switch to digital platforms and collaborate with other media networks in the Philippines.
