Why You Should See It:
The first collaboration between ABS-CBN and the video-sharing mammoth, YouTube, brims with rom-com staples that many may deem as repetitive and thus, no longer effective. But for some reason, How To Move On in 30 Days feels essential, a necessary distraction in our busy pandemic life.
Jen (Maris Racal) is a very dedicated social media manager who does everything to please her influencer boyfriend, Jake (Albie Casiño). As a rising celebrity, Jake’s talent management prohibits him and Jen from divulging to the public that they are romantic items. Complications arise when Jake’s manager decided to assign Jen to other talents. One day, when she tries to surprise Jake in his own house, Jen finds out that her boyfriend has been cheating on her with another girl. When she asks Jake to promise her to never cheat again, he breaks up with her instead.
Jen’s reliable friends, the bubbly Sara (Jai Agpangan) and Anton (Kyo Quijano) come to her rescue and offer to help with the aid of a mobile app called ‘BreakApp’. Through the app, a recovery program that lasts from 30 to 90 days, is offered to heartbroken users. Will the app succeed at mending Jen’s heart? It does not take a genius to guess that it surely won’t because someone else is tasked with the mending part. Maybe it’s Franco (Carlo Aquino), the stranger who rescued her when she got almost hit by a car? It could also be Jen, herself, after figuring out that her happiness is purely just a matter of personal choice.
It’s not clear yet how much of the story will revolve around the mobile application ‘BreakApp’ playing a part in Jen’s eventual recovery, and how much will it allow either Franco or Jake, to interfere with her happy or sad ending. But it is good to know this early, that things are already shaping up nicely for this new series.
It’s light, warm-hearted, and brimming with ‘kilig’ for those who just want to watch something tender and chuckle-worthy love story to kill time, this series is way beyond satisfying to make your heart full.
