The Department of Education (DepEd) once again became the subject of criticism on Thursday, April 7, after questions in its Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person module attacked the presidential aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo.
Considered controversial are the items for the multiple-choice questions were [obviously] Robredo criticizing the Duterte Administration.
Another showed how the questions suggested that the VP censured Duterte’s war-on-drugs campaign.
The subtle attacks had talent manager Ogie Diaz, a supporter of the Vice President, calling it “cheap.” He even suggested that DepEd create its version of Philippine History.
“Ang cheap ng @DepEd_PH! Gawa na din kayo ng bagong Philippine History,” wrote Diaz.

Disinformation directly from DepEd?
This is even more alarming than disinformation on social media. Imagine our own public school system teaching students that all presidents were puppets except for Marcos and Duterte? That the EDSA Revolution was a sham (see thread)? https://t.co/OW8KB9buyx

Netizens got shocked by how DepEd tried to “manipulate” the next generation’s minds by condemning Robredo.
Hi @DepEd_PH mukhang nagagamit ang module ng mga estudyante at manipulahin ang isip ng mga bata laban kay VP Leni Robredo. Kasabwat ba kayo dito? Charot! pic.twitter.com/TjyU3zyQC2

Downgraded ang substance, objectives aren't attainable and issuing biased part; brainwashing contents. These educators prompt as eduACTORS only. Shame. https://t.co/MAMbJbVcvU

A netizen was even terrified it would affect his brother’s mindset, adding she got flabbergasted and that educators were trying to brainwash its students.

Though other questions may not be in the screenshot–still the content was menacing, according to netizens.
ABS-CBN also got included in another question that seeks to determine biases in headlines.
The test item appeared to be a “mockery” of the network’s shutdown in 2020, causing thousands of Filipinos to lose their livelihood amid the pandemic.

A netizen even believed that DepEd now acts like a troll.

The government agency also faced criticism after claiming that tattoos are symbols of violence. Angel Locsin was also body-shamed in another module by DepEd.
