Eraserheads lead vocalist Ely Buendia slammed his bashers, who lectured him about taxes. He stressed that they (the bashers) don’t know how to verify the information.
In his tweet on April 6, he expressed his dismay over netizens, who lectured him about tax laws and elitism.
Good news, andami palang tax experts at lexicographers sa Pilipinas, they wasted no time in schooling me with their vast knowledge of tax laws and definitions of elitism. Yun nga lang bad news is they can’t tell what’s fake and what’s not😔

His tweet came after he expressed his opinion on how the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) failed to catch people who owe the country money on March 31.
When the BIR can’t even do anything about certain individuals who owe us tons of money, isn’t that the very definition of elitism? Fight me😁

Accordingly, Buendia referred to the tax issues circulating presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.
While other netizens defended Marcos Jr. and said that he does not owe the country anything, some netizens still insist that the presidential candidate should give back what he stole from the government’s coffers.
In Buendia’s tweet on April 1, he seemed to have taken a swipe at those who defended Marcios Jr. He said that those people get muted when the rights of the poor are the one abused.
Andaming nagdi-defend sa mayayaman pero tahimik pag yung mahihirap ang kinukulong, pinapatay na walang laban at due process. #pakyukayoenablers #letLeniandKikoLead

“Andaming nagdi-defend sa mayayaman pero tahimik pag yung mahihirap ang kinukulong, pinapatay na walang laban at due process,” he said.
On April 4, he then said that the platforms of Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan for the country still outshine the bashing they receive.
“Kahit gaano kahaba ang prosesyon (at palusot ng enablers), babalik at babalik pa rin sa plataporma at track record. #LetLeniAndKikoLead,” said Buendia.
Buendia is open in his support for the Leni-Kiko tandem.
Previously, he made the headlines after he surprised presidential candidate Leni Robredo with an Eraserheads 25th Anniversary Limited Edition vinyl album.
