On April 21, award-winning young actor Elijah Canlas compared his role in the digital series Misis Piggy to his other projects.
During the media conference for ABS-CBN’s early mother’s day offering, Canlas described his role in the digital series as “super safe.”
“Parang wala namang adjustments. I mean, super safe, pa ng role ko dito compared to the roles I’ve done before. Pero, ‘yun nga ‘yung sinasabi ko a while ago sa isang interview, na when I read the script, sobrang buo na po kasi ‘yung mga characters.”
He then cited how it was easy to step into his role when he arrived at the set for the digital series.
“Konting tanong na lang po kay Direk Carlo and of course, when I stepped on set, dahil nandoon na ‘yung bahay, nakadamit na ako ni Jeffrey, kasama ko na ‘yung buong pamilya parang it just came authentically na rin.”
He then thanked the cast for supporting him while taping the series.
“Kasi, I didn’t have that much time to prepare kasi galing ako sa isa pang project, like literally a day before lang noong shoot. Kaya parang super grateful with this group and super grateful with the wonderful material ni Direk Carlo talaga. Like what Direk Ricky said, blessing talaga.”
As for his role, Canlas shared how he relates his character to his familial relationships at home.
“Ako po medyo malayo din, middle child po ako. Kaya sobrang reach sa akin noong bunso kasi may pagka-competitive kami sa household namin.
“But I guess similarities namin ni Jeffrey, Jeffrey–observer lang din sa family, ako din ‘yung medyo observer sa family, ‘yung magsa-side comment na lang din ako from time to time.
“Maka-family din po, me and my mom have a very aggressive relationship pero I love her to death, If she’s watching right now, Mom, I love you.”
Canlas previously worked on productions such as Gameboys: The Series, Gameboys” The Movie, and Kalel, 15.
