On Thursday, March 31, young actor Diego Loyzaga recalled the time that he was enticed to invest money out of greediness.
“I acquired some money, which I won. Ginawa ko sa money, instead of keeping it, I invested it somewhere else thinking na lalaki yung pera. So you could say that was greed and that personally happened to me,” he shared during the virtual media press conference of his Vivamax movie Greed.
“I was scammed. They ran away with my money. So sadly, that was really greed,” added the young actor.
Loyzaga realized that because he was discontented with what he had, he easily gave in to greed.
“When you lack contentment, doon pumapasok si greed eh. You always want more than what you have, you always look at the things you could have rather than the things that you do have.”
He believed in the saying “A bird in the hand is better than two birds in a bush,” pointing out that it is better to acknowledge what he already has.
Greed is not all about money.
Loyzaga was not one to spend all of his money on himself. He would rather share it with his friends and family—greediness in the form of always having company.
“I could have saved a lot more money in the past years that I have been in this business but I don’t.
“I’d rather be spending it with my friends, my family, going out, enjoying life.”
Greed is about a couple who, after winning the lottery, experiences the meaning of the saying, “money is the root of all evil.”
Esteemed filmmaker Yam Laranas directed it, starring returning actress Nadine Lustre and also includes seasoned actor Epy Quizon.
Greed will have its world premiere on April 8.
