Thai actor Bright Vachirawit revealed the story behind his name during the global media conference for F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flower on March 27.
Vachirawit said, “My Mom gave me this name because everybody’s name in my family, in my generation, started with the letter B.
“Bright has two meanings in English. It means light and also clever. So I think it’s a great name for me.”
He then described his character in the series F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flower as a kid with a bad attitude but kind deep down.
“Thyme, for me, he’s just a little kid with a very bad attitude. He also needs to grow up. But deep down, he’s really a nice person for me. You have to give him time to learn.”
Vachirawit then shared what he liked about his character in the series, especially the things he wouldn’t normally do in real life.
“I liked it when I [could] do things I [could not] do in real life. Like in the first episode, I really liked portraying him. He was so evil and obnoxious, and I cannot do that in my real life because I’m not like that. But I really enjoy portraying him in that part. For me, I really like portraying a character who is really different from myself.”
He then admitted that understanding his character was the most challenging part of his job.
“The most challenging for me is to understand him. We grew up differently, so it’s really hard to understand what he thinks, and I had to prepare many things to be him.
“Not just his way of thinking but his personality too because, he comes from a very rich family. That’s the most challenging part for me.”
Earlier, Vachirawit, along with his 2gether co-star Win Metawin, held a virtual fan meet for Filipinos.
The Thai actor then expressed his interest in visiting the Philippines, especially Cebu.
“I have a trip in my mind–I want to go Cebu island and go diving there. It is very beautiful there, and I will be there for sure.”
He portrays the role of Thyme in the Thai series F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flower. The cast also include Tu Tontawan, Dew Jirawat, Win Metawin, and Nani Hirunkit.
He admitted that he would miss his co-actors after their series finale.
“I think I would miss my friends and moments when the f4 would gather. I really enjoyed the moment. Second, I miss Gorya a lot and more time with her. Because I’m always so happy when I’m spending time with Gorya and Tu.”
The F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flower nears its finale with three episodes left, and viewers can watch the remaining episodes every Saturday at 9:30 PM via iWantTFC, simultaneous with its Thailand airing.
