The self-confessed Duterte Diehard Supporter called out the former Pinoy Big Brother host for her recent statement about the Presidential Palace becoming the former dictator’s son’s home, soon.
“Kaunting-kaunting panahon na lang, babalik na si BBM sa kaniyang tahanan — ang Malacañang (Just a little longer, before we finally see BBM returns to his home — Malacañang), said former Pinoy Big Brother host-turned-vlogger Toni Gonzaga at the grand rally that Marcos Jr.’s UniTeam held in the Queen City of the South–Cebu City, on April 18, Monday.
That statement has since earned flak among netizens and various personalities, including outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte’s staunch supporter and now one of Isko Domagoso’s major endorsers, Mocha Uson.
The Mothers for Change (MOCHA) Partylist nominee voiced her objection to Gonzaga, who recently earned the moniker “The New Mocha Uson” through a Tiktok video.
“Gusto ko lang magkomento dito sa sinabi ni Toni Gonzaga. Alam mo ma’am, hindi maganda ‘yang sinasabi niyo. Napaghahalataan na wala kayong alam sa public service (I just want to share my two cents about what Toni Gonzaga said. You knwow hat…it’s not right that you said that. It only shows how ignorant you are about public service)” she said as an opener.
She went on to stress her point by namedropping her idol, President Duterte, does not consider Malacañang as his home.
“Si Pangulong Duterte nga po, sinasabi niya na ang Malakanyang ay kanya lamang opisina at hindi po niya ito tahanan. Ito ay pag-aari ng taumbayan (President Duterte even says, Malacañang is just his office, not his home. It belongs to the public).”
Uson also went on to lecturing Gonzaga about the Marcoses “Para sabihin mo na babalik na sa kanyang tahanan si Marcos ay parang sinabi mo na rin po na diktador ang kanilang pamilya na ginawa lang na tahanan ang Malakanyang noon. Umalis lang saglit at ngayon babalik muli para angkinin ito (For you to say he will come home to Malacañang, is tantamount to saying their family are dictators, who made Malacañang as their home in the past. Did you mean they just left for a while and now, they are coming back?)” she said.
@mochausonofficial Ang Malacañang ay opisina hindi tahanan
Ferdinand Marcos and his family resided in Malacañang for 20 year, from 1966 to 1986. His regime is known for the atrocities and human-rights abuses carried out during the implementation of the Martial Law.
Toni Gonzaga has been actively campaigning for the candidacy of the defeated 2016 vice presidentiable, and the senators under the BBM-Sara slate, including Rep. Rodante Marcoleta. The lawmaker is one of the killers of the franchise application of ABS-CBN, the Network that developed and made Gonzaga’s career thrive for two decades.
