On April 19, Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemate and Philippine Idol Singer Anji Salvacion recalled the song that made her a singer: Whitney Houston’s All At Once.
During the media conference for Feels: The Concert, Salvacion said All At Once was the first song her Mom taught her when she was young.
“The very first song that my Mom taught me na, I sang–for the very first time in public. It was All at Once by Whitney [Houston]. That made me want to be a singer.”
She then recounted the first time she competed using the song All At Once.Â
“Noong maliit pa ako, grade three ako noon, and that was my very first and last I think. Kasi noong umulit ako kumanta in public in a contest, I’m already grade 8. Sobrang layo ng gap.”
She then listed the classic songs she used to sing with her grandfather.Â
“I still listen to Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Carpenters, mga oldie-oldies kasi my Lolo is mahilig sa mga old songs. There are some songs na old classic, but I don’t know the singers. We used to sing me and my Lolo, Tatay.”
She then cited You Are My Sunshine as her favorite song because it was the lullaby her parents sang to them as kids.
“My favorite song of all time would be You Are My Sunshine, kasi ‘yan ‘yung lullaby nila Daddy at tsaka ni Mommy sa amin ng brother ko. While they are singing it, I could feel the love that they have for us. And it’s just so beautiful lang na to hear somebody sing for you You Are My Sunshine.”
As for her concernt, the Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10 celebrity housemate assured fans with a full-on concert vibe with her Feels: The Concert, streaming live on April 30 (Saturday), 8PM via KTX.ph.
