ABS-CBN and one of its prime talents Vice Ganda remain two of Filipinos’ most trusted brands and personalities.
On its 100th anniversary, Reader’s Digest continues to celebrate brands that consumers trust. Brands and personalities that the Filipino consumer trusts, are once again honored in the family digest’s annual Trusted Brands Awards.
Now in its 24th year, Reader’s Digest shifted its focus to brands that built strong connections with local consumers, especially during the pandemic.
On its website, the digest reiterated its mission ever since they’ve begun handing the honors to the most trusted brands, in the past 24 years.
“For 24 consecutive years, Reader’s Digest has reached out to consumers across Asia to identify those elements in a brand that make it worthy of their trust. With these years of research behind us, we are able to confidently dissect precisely what features a trusted brand must process in order to maintain relevance and purpose for Asian consumers” it said, emphasizing ‘trust’ as that emotion that drives consumers to stick with their preferred brands.

Among those brands that the Filipino consumers continue to stick with through the years, is ABS-CBN.
In the past two years, the Network has arguably gone through one of its biggest challenges: losing its franchise and making a sudden shift to digital to stay alive. The fact that it remains one of the biggest media entities today, even after its May 2020 shutdown, seems to be a screaming testament that the network has kept its loyal followers.
Handing ABS-CBN the ‘Gold’ trophy under the ‘TV Network’ category, Reader’s Digest recognized the Network’s incredible feat during the pandemic, having been able to navigate what could be its darkest eras as a company, since its 1972 shutdown.
“Despite the limitations caused by the pandemic and the non-renewal of its broadcast franchise in recent years, ABS-CBN remains present and felt by its audiences” said Reader’s Digest on its website.
Meanwhile, It’s Showtime host and comedian Vice Ganda was named a Gold awardee under the Entertainment and Variety category. Both ABS-CBN and Vice Ganda are notably also included in last year’s roster of awardees.
