Dubbed as the Philippines’ first fully multi-screen interactive channel, PIE Channel marks another milestone for ABS-CBN and local television.
Something’s baking in the oven! Globe’s Kroma Entertainment recently unveiled a new digital platform known as ‘PIE’ or Philippine Interactive Entertainment Channel, which will bring ABS-CBN-produced programs and content from other providers to digital television. The landmark deal will usher in a new age in Filipino viewing, which sees the rise of the ‘tradigital’ TV era.
With Kroma Entertainment’s other partners, including ANIMA (formerly Globe Studios), Paradise Rising, UpstreamPH, and LiveMNL, ABS-CBN Entertainment will be PIE Channel’s biggest content provider. It means the airing of some beloved ABS-CBN shows and other upcoming content is possible in this new venture.
Through its official site, pie.com.ph, PIE Channel urged viewers to rescan their TV boxes, as the channel has been on test broadcast since a few days ago. Based on the teaser plug released, a part of the new channel’s programming will be interactive game shows and similar content.

He also acknowledged ABS-CBN’s expertise in terms of content creation. Kroma will complement its interactive and tech product mix as fully- enabled by the 917Ventures portfolio companies.
Broadcast Enterprises Associated Media (BEAM) Inc.’s network will carry it to the national digital TV stations–PIE Channel will magnify ABS-CBN presence on digital TV. Thus, it will challenge major TV networks, including GMA Network, TV5, and A2Z.
ABS-CBN is yet, to release a press statement about the deal, but this early, Kapamilya viewers are already rejoicing online.
Some of them shared images that show PIE Channel is indeed already on test broadcast. As BEAM Inc. will be its digital TV partner, PIE Channel is poised to be seen by more TV viewers nationwide.
BEAM Inc. is currently operating seven digital TV stations across the archipelago. These TV stations serve Mega Manila, Baguio, Naga, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, and Zamboanga. BEAM’s digital nationwide broadcast–is also multiplexed into two frequencies and eight sub-channels.
