The X Factor Philippines alumna informed her supporters that she lost a thousand followers after the news of her appearance at the upcoming BBM-Sara rally in Cebu broke out.
Katrina Velarde does not take personally losing followers over her political beliefs.
The singer expressed her sentiment on social media after she lost 1000 followers on her facebook page.
Velarde, herself, informed her supporters, of the news through the pinned comment she made on one of her posts. “I already lost 1000 followers. But I am not taking it personally. Still I respect you. And I appreciate those who respect me too. Thank you, spread love…” her post reads.

Velarde started losing followers when she shared the news that she is set to perform at the UniTeam’s Festival Rally in Cebu, tomorrow, April 18. The said event will see Velarde reuniting with her regular collaboration partners, Bugoy Drilon, Darryl Ong, and Michael Pangilinan aka BuDaKhel. A dozen more artists, including BBM-Sara rally regulars, Toni Gonzaga, Bayani Agbayani, as well as rappers, DJ Loonyo and John Roa, are expected to render their performances during the said concert-political rally event, which is anticipated to conjure a mammoth crowd.
The defeated 2016 vice-presidentiable notably lost to Robredo by 500,000 votes in the province of Cebu, when they both run as vice-presidents in the 2016 national polls. Cebu’s prominent political party, One Cebu, and its head, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, recently endorsed the candidacy of both Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte, as President and Vice-President, respectively.
After losing followers, BBM-Sara supporters came to Velarde’s rescue and started following the singer. The viral artist has since started gaining more followers. As of this writing, nearly 850,000 users are following her official facebook page. That’s a hundred thousand more than the time she started losing followers.
