Why You Should See It:`
A dare-gone-wrong initiates the chaos in this sexy drama that serves as a follow-up to the first film, albeit containing an entirely different set of actors. The producers of this film promised a fresh story.
Judging the entire film, it is still the same, except with a few improvements.
In this sequel, young couple Peter (Josef Elizalde) and Violet (Rob Guinto) are meeting a client for a pictorial at a resort island. During their stay at the place, Peter crossed paths with his writer-vlogger ex, Olivia (Angela Moreno), from whom he is yet to get closure.
His playful girlfriend suddenly suggests to Peter that he should spend time with his ex, and she even gives her blessing to get his ‘closure sex’. In return, Violet also proposes that she will have her sexcapade with Olivia, who is now a lesbian. A deal soon takes place, and the three agree to engage in a trade of partners.
Guinto is launched here as a solo-starrer, following her appearances in several Vivamax films, including Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo Part 2: Aussie! Aussie! O Sige! (2021), Siklo (2022), and Boy Bastos (2022).
It is expected that she should shine the brightest in this film. To her credit, she did shine, but the same honor also goes to her other female co-star, Moreno. Elizalde believably portrays his role as the noxious boyfriend though none can deny how attractive he is–enough to deserve two sirens vying for what he can offer in a game of pleasure and intimacy.
Fajardo benefited so much from the picturesque setting of his film, as it allowed him to turn it into a scenic backdrop for his daring extravaganza.
Some parts of the plot didn’t make sense at all, but there is no denying, X Deal is better than most bomba features the streaming service has offered in the last two years. A decent combination of visuals and performances saves the film from being a total bore.
