Kapuso artist Thea Tolentino recalled the audition process she went through during the media conference for Take Me To Banaue on March 3.
Tolentino said she had to film her audition video by herself because of the pandemic.
“Noong nag-audition po ako, I was actually doing a teleserye, and dahil nga nagka-pandemic hindi na nangyayari yung pupunta ka sa location para mag-audition, and we had to shoot our own audition which was hard kasi we’re going to be really perfectionists about our vision doon sa video. And isang gabi ko lang siya ginawa pero nakailang ulit po talaga ako.”
She then described her character in the movie as powerful and flirtatious.
“I asked for help from the people around me. Kasi si Jinky is somewhat–she’s really/ powerful. And she can be playful and flirtatious in a way. Ako po kasi hindi po ako marunong mag-flirt. So nagtanong po ako sa co-actor ko how do you flirt, paano ba ‘yun?
“Tapos ‘yun ‘yung ginawa ko sa audition which Direk Danny liked. Thank you po, nagustuhan niyo. First time ko pong mang-landi sa video. Thank you sobrang excited po ako. Thank you Direk Danny from trusting me.”
She clarified that her character is different from her in real life.
“Ako mahiyain talaga ako, I’m a really, really shy person, but once you get to know me, I just recently found out na may pagka-abnoy talaga ako, na kaya ko palang maging kengkoy with people who are close to me. And I’m trying to bring that out in this movie. Kasi talagang kabaliktaran ko siya.
“And I’m really thankful for the workshops dahil nagkaroon kami ng tools para mailabas ko, mas mapaganda ko ‘yung role.”
She then detailed her preparations for their locked-in taping for the movie.
“Ginagawa ko na lahat ng preparation na gagawin ko dito sa Manila. Kagaya bukas, mayroon ako tomorrow, magpapa-facial ako, magpapa-nails din ako, para maganda naman ‘yung balat ko pag napanood niyo na ‘yung movie.”
Thea Tolentino joins the cast of Take Me To Banaue, which includes a mix of International actors Brandon Melo and Dylan Rogers alongside local artists Maureen Wroblewitz and Boobay.
