Netizens went abuzz last night when the much-awaited dinner confrontation scene finally took place on The Broken Marriage Vow.
Social media went gaga over a scene on the ABS-CBN primetime drama The Broken Marriage Vow on March 7-episode.
That scene is widely-revered as its highlight in any past editions of the drama series. The series [originally] got aired and produced by the British Broadcasting Company (BBC).

On YouTube, the Jodi Sta. Maria-starrer attracted more than 130,000 live viewers via Kapamilya Online Live.
Such a number is a rare feat as the previous record only puts the average daily live viewers of the show to just 100,000. That said, The Broken Marriage Vow is already way ahead of its previous shows, whose live viewers on Kapamilya Online Live have never reached 100,000, let alone hit 130,000.
Fans also draw comparisons between the show’s version of the heated dinner scene and the other international adaptations, including the original British version and the South Korean adaptation.
The said dinner scene depicted Dr. Jill Ilustre (Jodi Sta. Maria) and David Ilustre (Zanjoe Marudo) having dinner with the Luceros, including their daughter, Lexy (Sue Ramirez), who has an affair with David.
Dr. Jill, who finally decided to reclaim her dignity, set the Luceros and David up for her explosive revelation.
During the said dinner scene, Dr. Jill Ilustre exposed her husband’s affair with Lexy, whom she also revealed to be carrying David’s child, and that she tried getting the child aborted in the United States.
Another highlight of that scene is when Lexy hits Dr. Jill on the head before walking out of the dinner.
It’s also worth noting that the iconic scene came on the heels of the show’s record-breaking 8.8% AGB NUTAM rating last Friday, March 4, which is the show’s highest TV rating to date. The rating of the show’s episode featuring the highly-anticipated dinner scene is yet to be released.
