On Thursday, March 9, Multimedia Princess Nadine Luster was really excited to be back in making movies after taking a much-needed break.
In the virtual media conference for her psychology-thriller movie Greed, the actress wanted to get back into role-playing.
“Actually sobrang na-miss ko po siya. Kasi ibang-iba talaga yung pakiramdam kapag umaarte and iba din yung feeling kapag nagpe-perform, ‘pag kumakanta or sumasayaw,” she said. “Ang pinakana-miss ko po kasi sa pag-arte yung nagpo-portray nang character.”
Lustre was also excited that she would be working for the first time with esteemed filmmaker Yam Laranas.
“I’m really happy kasi makakatrabaho ko si Direk Yam. Ako kasi ever since napapanuod ko po yung mga pelikula ni Direk Yam. Yung Aurora nga po ang isa sa pinaka-gusto ko na gusto na pelikula niya.”
She added, “So noong nag-pitch po sina boss sa akin at sina Direk, sobrang na-excite po ako. Ang saya ko din kasi finally this time, hindi na siya romantic-comedy or hindi lang siya drama, thriller-horror din siya.”
Her last movie was in 2019 after starring in Indak together with Sam Concepcion, and in her return to the acting scene, Lustre admitted she was feeling “rusty.”
“Ang daming mga bagay na medyo na-unlearn ko just because yun nga po, hindi nga po ako humaharap sa camera.”
The actress further added, “Especially noong nagshu-shooting kami nina Direk Yam, feeling ko parang may kulang, parang may mali or basta sobrang nakakapanibago po. Eventually naitama ko naman po, naibalik ko naman po ulit. And because of the help of Direk Yam din and my co-actors.”
Meanwhile, Greed also marks the “restart” of her acting, taking on a different role than what she used to do.
“Definitely! I could finally say na tuluy-tuloy na po. Of course, gusto ko na po ulit bumalik sa acting scene. And it’s really something that I enjoy doing and I super miss doing.
“I’m really happy kasi this time around, everyone is really trying to make an effort into changing I guess the genres or the stories that are being given to me. As in talagang may effort na yung gusto talaga namin ay iba-iba na yung klase ng mga pelikula ang gagawin ko. Before medyo pare-parehas with romance, rom-com, dramas.”
The movie also stars Diego Loyzaga, and it is about a rural couple who becomes endangered after winning a lottery.
Greed will begin streaming beginning March 16 on Vivamax.
