On Sunday, March 6, Saab Magalona clapped back at a netizen who insisted that she does not know the meaning of her late father’s iconic song Kaleidoscope World.
During the 13th death anniversary of legendary rapper Francis Magalona, she shared how a presidential aspirant wanted to use her father’s songs.
Today marks the 13th year since my dad’s passing.
Before the filing of candidacy, a presidential aspirant asked if they could use this FrancisM song for his campaign. My mom and I discussed. We wanted Leni but she hadn’t announced her candidacy yet. https://t.co/9tGPu2xspu

The singer-actress then advised her mother to wait for Robredo to announce her candidacy.
Since their chosen candidate will be gunning to be the next Philippine President, Saab was certain that he would be the one performing for Robredo’s rallies if her father were alive.
She was thinking maybe it was still a better candidate than Marcos or Duterte. I advised her against it. Sabi ko tatakbo si Leni. Fast forward to today.
If my dad were here, he’d be performing at her rallies.#LeniKiko2022: ITO ANG GUSTO KO!!

But a netizen, @RavieHearts, claimed that the song of legendary rapper Francis Magalona does not speak of politics.

Magalona then responded that she knows the song and her father better than any netizen.
“Gurl, parang hindi mo na-gets young kanta. At gurl, tingin ko mas kilala ko tatay ko kesa sa’yo.”

Francis M. was known to be political when it came to his songs. After he passed, his wife and daughters, Pia, Maxene, and Saab, continued his critical legacy to the government, especially with how the Duterte administration handled the pandemic situation.
His songs Nilamon ng Sistema, Higante, Mga Kababayan, and Kaleidoscope World, among others, focused on the social ills and lamented issues to the public.
The Master Rapper was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2008 and passed away on March 13, 2009.
