Kakampinks remain ecstatic throughout the 11-hour grand rally dubbed Rock & Rosas in Notre Dame, Caloocan City. Insofar, the Saturday event was the longest of all the Leni-Kiko sorties.
Not only did the massive Kakampink crowd gather for Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan in a Marcos bailiwick, but they also stayed for up to 11 hours to hear their preferred presidential bet speak and their favorite artists perform. Marcos notably won CaMaNaVa over Robredo in the 2016 national elections. It is not surprising that the supporters stayed very late as organizers of the event made sure that all the artists who signed up, were given time to perform. What is surprising, however, is the fact that the crowd remained thick until the Tanya Markova, the last band, performed.
Aside from Robredo, Pangilinan, and the senatoriables under their slate, more than three dozen acts lent their talent to the Rock and Rosas grand rally, which practically became a hybrid of a political rally and a music festival. Popular bands like Ben & Ben, ChicoSci, The Company, The Juans, Letter Day Story, Gracenote, Tanya Markova, and Prettier Than Pink, as well as solo artists like Noel Cabangon, Kuh Ledesma, and Jason Dy, graced the stage to perform their biggest hits. Tuesday Vargas, Mela Habijan, Kerwin King, Alex Diaz, and Alex Calleja, are some of those who provided their hosting skills for the event.
One of the highlights of the night is when the former Commission of Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon, took the mic and reiterated why another Marcos can not be allowed to sit at the Malacañang.
“Walang hiya at sinungaling” she said, and shared that the younger Marcos is already the second Marcos she is fighting. “Wag mo naman sana gawing tatlo…” she warned Bongbong, as she alluded to the possible rise of another Marcos, other than the defeated 2016 vice presidentiable.
Vice President Leni Robredo shared she almost did not make it to the event.
She arrived at the venue at around 8:00 PM and delivered her message at 8:25 PM, just 5 minutes before the Earth Hour, which the organizers and the attendees observed.
The event went on with more speakers and performers. The event formally closed at past 1:00 am the next day, making ‘Rock & Rosas’ the longest rally so far held for Vice President Robredo’s presidential campaign.
