Alternative rock band Rivermaya on March 1, Tuesday, answered the allegations that the tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan have been wooing voters and supporters through money.
Over social media, there were “proofs” that have solidified these accusations. At one point, a fudgee bar along with a 100-peso bill went viral on the Internet.
These baseless claims were then used to harass celebrities and personalities who support the two.
The band, who will be performing in Robredo’s Grand People’s Rally in Cavite was inviting the public to attend when a troll “inquired” about the fee of those joining the motorcade.
“Magkano po binibigay kapag sasama sa motorcade?” asked the netizen
.
Rivermaya responded, “Wala, pag-asa lang.”

Celebrities earn a hefty sum of money during election season by showing support to a candidate.
However, things are changing as talent manager Ogie Diaz revealed on February 26 that the endorsements of celebrities for Robredo were “free of charge.”
“Napakalaki po ng bayad ng artista pagdating ng kampanya, totoo ‘yan. Every three years po, kami ay nananagana sa kita dahil syempre ‘pag panahon ang eleksyon, aba, magaganda kami lahat d’yan, medyo paldo-paldo ang bulsa.
“Pero sa pagkakataong ito, ni singkong duling, wala kaming tinanggap,” said Diaz.
Present in the rally were celebrities such as Rica Paralejo, Bituin Escalante, Cherry Pie Picache, Edu Manzano, Gabby Padilla, Gab Valenciano, Pipay, Juan Karlos, Gaia, and many more.
Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia and Rivermaya offered a performance.
