Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos shared her thoughts on challenging roles and projects during the media conference for Artikulo 247 on March 1, 2022.
Ramos said she’s not afraid of accepting challenging projects because she learns more from them.
“It was very/ difficult and challenging, but I am also not naman afraid of difficult or challenging projects because those are the ones you learn the most.”
She clarified that she enjoyed their taping on set despite the heavy emotions needed in portraying her character.
“Any feeling or emotion naman na required sa script, parang it’s always fun to get to it or to achieve a certain emotion kahit negative emotion pa siya or heavy emotion.
“As an actor naman, you’re never doing it alone naman — you’re always acting with a group. Even if you’re in the scene alone, Direk is a big help, even the production design. Everything can affect kung paano mo ma-achieve ‘yung feeling na ‘yun. So I really enjoyed achieving all those feelings that Jane has in her life. Kahit ‘yung negative emotions.”
Ramos also detailed some of the pandemic habits she had to unlearn while taping the series.
“Minsan napapansin ko on-set or during a scene, may mga times na siguro sa past iba ‘yung magiging decision ko sa scene, like yakap agad or something agad, ‘yun ‘yung mga habits na sinusubukan kong tanggalin na parang maghe-hesitate ako bago ko yakapin ‘yung kung sino man ‘yung ka-eksena ko or things like that.”
Thankfully, GMA Network’s health protocol eased her worries while they were on set.
“Pero ‘yung comfort level naman namin sa set lahat okay. Kasi lahat kami we were tested, we went through a 10 day hotel quarantine, everything was very safe, and honestly before and after kissing scenes, may mga anti-septic gargles pa kami and things like that behind the scenes. So lahat naman ‘yun nakakatulong doon sa comfort level namin sa set.”
As for her character, Ramos shared a piece of advice when it comes rushing into things.
“Sa mga decisions sa buhay, wag padalos-dalos kasi the decisions we make today will affect kung ano ‘yung mangyayari sa atin tomorrow, next month, next year. Parang sometimes, we have to really think about what we are doing bago natin gawin. Kasi in the heat of the moment, we might do something we regret and ayun si Jane.”
She then noted that her role in the series is far from her persona in real life.
“Malayo, although I enjoy naman din talaga playing mga characters na malayo sa akin in real life. Kasi doon mo nate-testing ‘yung empathy mo as an actor. Na kaya mong umintindi ng tao kahit iba siya sa thinking process mo.”
Ramos stars in GMA Network’s riveting legal drama, Artikulo 247, alongside Kris Bernal, Benjamin Alves, and Mark Herras.
Joining them are a powerhouse team of actors starting with Mike Tan, Victor Silayan, Carla Martinez, Denise Barbacena, Rain Matienzo, and Brent Valdez.
The gripping teleserye directed by Jorron Lee Monroy premieres on March 7 on GMA Afternoon Prime.
