What is the Pink Lipstick campaign?
The Pink Lipstick campaign video is an initiative of Angel Locsin and Direk Tonet Jadaone as their way of celebrating International Women’s Month.
Released on March 23, the video aimed to counter the stigmas and oppressions being experienced by Filipino women in their everyday lives.
The use of the Pink Lipstick symbolizes women’s power to combat stereotypes and allow them to break the norms and make their voices louder.
But more importantly, it was created to form a movement of women that will use their collective strength to push and vote for a woman leader who will listen, acknowledge and fight for their causes. And that leader is Vice President Leni Robredo.
Together with Angel in the powerful campaign video are Kakampink artists Iza Calzado, Jane De Leon, Agot Isidro, Cherry Pie Picache, Pinky Amador, Julia Barretto, Mylene Dizon, Angelica Panganiban, Bianca Gonzales, Shamaine Centenera, Maris Racal, Janella Salvador and others. Social media personalities Dr. Gia Sison, Mela Habijan, Pipay, and Robredo’s daugther Aika were also part of the campaign as well as ordinary women who believe in the power of women helping other women.
