Filipino photographer Niccolo Cosme went on social media and reacted to Senator and presidential candidate Ping Lacson’s comment regarding the Robredo-Pangilinan People’s Rally in Cavite on March 4, 2022.
In a series of tweets on March 6, Cosme called out Lacson for irresponsibly red-tagging people who went to the well-attended People’s Campaign Rally of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
Cosme blasted Lacson for endangering the lives of the people who showed up in Robredo’s biggest rally so far through his red-tagging.
Also, he chided the Senator by saying it hurts knowing his fellow locals of the said province will go out to support Vice President Robredo rather than him.

Niccolo then clarified why he is addressing Ping as “Tiyo.”
According to Cosme, Lacson is the first cousin of his grandfather. His blood linkage with the Senator won’t matter as he will vote for Robredo.
Sa mga nagtatanong bakit Tiyo Ping, pinsang buo po sya ng lolo ko. Pero hindi ko po sya iboboto. Ang boto ko po ay para kay Leni Robredo! #LeniKiko2022 #LeniRobredo #Kakampink

Lacson got widely criticized on social media for red tagging participants of the Leni-Kiko rally in Cavite.
In one of his tweets, Lacson said that he is worried about the setback on the government’s gains against insurgency if a coalition government with the CPP would succeed.
This is worrisome. A coalition government with the CPP/NPA/NDF will set back the gains of the government’s efforts to end the country’s decades-old insurgency problem. https://t.co/WC2bpG1y8g

Lacson’s tweet was his reaction to Cavite congressman Boying Remulla’s accusation that the Gen. Trias rally got infiltrated by the communists. Those participants got paid 500 pesos to attend. Remulla, however, failed to share any proof of his accusation.
Meanwhile, after getting a backlash on social media, he changed his tone. He clarified that he never red-tagged anybody and that he was just concerned for a possible coalition government with the CPP-NPA.
“I never red-tagged anybody. I was simply warning those concerned to be wary of a possible coalition government with a movement whose sole objective is to seize power. Insurgency, like corruption, must end if we want peace and prosperity.”
