In she wins the jackpot in the lottery, actress Nadine Lustre said on Thursday, March 9, that she is willing to donate all of her winnings to dog shelters.
“Ako po talaga gusto kong tulungan yung mga dog shelters. So gusto ko pong i-donate yung pera,” said Lustre during the virtual media conference for her upcoming movie Greed.
She explained that it may sound “unbelievable,” but it is what gives her happiness.
“I know it sounds like parang hindi siya believable na ido-donate ko lang yung pera. But sa akin po kasi yung pinaka-nagpapasaya sa akin is kapag nakakatulong ako sa ibang tao.”
Apart from helping shelters, Lustre also plans to give some assistance to the victims of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. She also would like to lend aid to the Odette victims.
In December 2021, after Typhoon Odette ravaged the Philippines, the actress made her way back to Siargao Island to help with relief operations.
She also assisted in installing a solar charging station to allow residents to charge their gadgets and lights while electricity has yet to be restored on the island.
As an advocate of mental health awareness and a known environmentalist, Lustre also hopes that her return to showbiz would not hinder her desire to help those who needed her assistance.
“There’s a lot of things to do, but s’yempre I know that if I do get more work, and I do get more projects, it’s gonna be more difficult. Kasi nga there’s a lot of things on my plate.
“But natutunan ko kasi really is time management and learning how to organize everything that you wanna do. But hopefully naman hindi magiging ganoon ka-hectic yung schedule na makakalimutan yung ibang gusto kong gawin.”
Meanwhile, Greed marks her comeback to making films and TV shows. It also includes Diego Loyzaga and is directed by Yam Laranas.
The movie is about a rural couple whose life gets threatened after winning the jackpot in a lottery.
Catch it on Vivamax to be streamed beginning March 16.
