On Thursday, March 9, Nadine Luster said that she had already reached the age where having a love team may not be applicable.
“I feel like I’m already past that the ‘loveteam phase’,” said the actress during the virtual media conference for her upcoming movie Greed.
Lustre, 28, explained that although it was a good thing to have, she already feels that having a love team is no longer needed at this stage of her career.
“You know, like if you’re in a love team, you both help each other up, you both pull each other up and it’s really teamwork. But feeling ko kasi I’m already past that. I feel like even in the past times, like in the showbiz industry, feeling ko ‘pag ganitong edad na, wala na siyang loveteam, parang hindi na siya bagay, hahaha.”
However, she does not close her door on the possibility that she may be paired with another actor, adding, “So I don’t know, we’ll see. Ako naman whatever happens naman, I’m open to it. But let’s see what happens.”
Lustre is also keen on working with her ex-boyfriend, actor-singer James Reid on a project. But it all depends on the latter as she pointed out that his current focus is his music.
“I think it really depends on the story at the end of the day. Kasi even naman si James he’s very explorative with all the things that he wanted to do. Let’s see if he’s still down to do movies. I’m sure if there’s a good script he’s probably game to do it. But for now, I feel like he wants to focus more on his music. That’s why he’s in L.A. So ‘yon, it depends. We’ll see.”
After spending four years together, they went their separate ways in June 2020. They maintain, however, a good relationship as friends.
“We’re okay. We’re still very good friends. We still work together and she’s always gonna be very special to me,” said Reid during a live conversation on Batalk Channel back in August 2021.
In the meantime, Lustre is making her return to the acting scene through Greed, a psychological-thriller movie that also stars Diego Loyzaga. It is helmed by Direk Yam Laranas and will be available for streaming on Vivamax starting March 16.
