Solo artist Mackie Empuerto drew the emotions from his celebrity crushes as he sang Ryan Cayabyab’s Can This Be Love on Thursday, March 17.
Empuerto, 16, has yet to experience love but was able to give justice to the love song.
“I think it’s normal naman po na magkaroon ng crush. Lalo na po na teenager na po ako ngayon. So siguro isa po ‘yon sa mga pinaghugutan ko po, yung mga crush ko po, haha,” explained the young singer during his virtual media launch.
He added, “Ayan po sina Ms. Kathryn Bernardo po, sina Ms. Liza Soberano po.”
Empuerto also used the affection he has for his family to channel emotions as he said, “Love for my family is what I have now. Palagi silang around to support, listen and love me in return.”
The young singer shared that his love language is through actions in terms of love itself.
“Ine-express ko po ang pagmamahal ko by supporting the person po. Ganoon ko po ipakita yung pagmamahal ko. Pinapakita ko po yung suporta ko, nandiyan po ako palagi kapag may kailangan po sila.”
Can This Be Love is Empuerto’s first-ever single under ABS-CBN Music. It was first sung by Smokey Mountain and was later on revived by Sarah Geronimo.
It is already available on various streaming platforms starting March 18.
