Sexy star Angela Morena shared on Wednesday, March 9, that it was her aunt, actress Lara Morena, who encouraged her and her sisters to be sexy actresses.
Morena is the sister of Stephanie Raz and Mikaela Raz, both talents of Viva.
In the virtual media conference for her upcoming film X-Deal 2, she said, “Actually, siya yung nag-push talaga sa amin na magkakapatid na to do sexy roles. Siya yung nag-encourage sa amin that it’s a good start, it’s a stepping stone for us to be in showbiz.”
Morena also remembered the advice that her aunt gave her before entering showbiz. It was to “always give her best in every scene.”
Due to the influence of Lara, Angela also dreams of working with her on a project, as well as her sisters.
“Gusto ko talagang maka-work yung tita ko, si Tita Lara Morena, yung mga sisters ko, yung mga ka-batch ko na nagsimula talaga sa showbiz.”
Meanwhile, her real name is Angela Raz, but she decided to go with “Angela Morena” as her screen name because of her skin tone.
“Yung kwento ng Angela Morena, ako po yung nag-suggest na palitan yung last name ko. Gusto ko talagang sumunod sa apelyido ni Tita Lara Morena, lalo na morena din ako. Eh yung mga kapatid ko kasi maputi. So kung gagamitin nila yung Morena, parang hindi siya swak. Sila din naman po yung nag-decide na gamitin yung apelyido namin na Raz.”
She wants to be a villain
Morena admitted that her face was suited to play innocent roles regarding her dream role. She would like to challenge herself and play a kontrabida role if given a chance.
“Talking about dream role, isa sa mga dream role ko yung maging kontrabida. Kasi lagi nilang sinasabi na yung mukha ko mukhang innocent face, sobrang bait. Why not try the other way ‘di ba? Kung kaya ko, hahaha”
A supportive sister.
Having her sister in the entertainment industry, Morena said they try to help each other become better artists.
“Yung sa amin naman po ni Steph, actually kapag may mga projects kaming natatanggap, pinag-uusapan po namin. Nagto-throw lines kami, tinuturuan ko din siya kung paano, nagpa-practice kami together with Tita Lara. Supporting din sa pag-promote, pag-share ng pictures, mag-comment, pagsabi sa ibang friends sa amin,” shared Morena.
To star in a remake of Virgin Island?
The sexy actress also expressed her desire to be part of a remake of the 1997 film erotic film Virgin Island.
“Yes! Actually, ayokong sabihin [pero] may surprise kaming tatlong magkakapatid. Pero yes I’m willing to remake if ever na i-pitch yung movie sa aming magkakapatid. Lalo na kung kasama si Ate Rob (Guinto) na isa siya sa mga cast ‘di ba? Sobrang saya no’n, hahaha.”
X-Deal 2 also stars Rob Guinto and newcomer Josef Elizalde. Esteemed filmmaker Lawrence Fajardo directs it.
