Kapamilya loveteam Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza clarified on March 15, at the Bida Star media conference and said they don’t feel the pressure to make things real between them.
Mendoza said both of them are focusing on their passion for acting.
“Wala, walang pressure talaga at all. Wala, hindi namin talaga siya iniisip. Happy lang talaga kami magka-work at ‘yun talaga.
“At one thing na nakaka-proud sa aming dalawa is alam namin ‘yung passion namin at doon talaga kami sobrang may connection talaga na naiintindihan namin na ‘yun ‘yung gusto namin gawin.”
Bautista admitted that she felt pressured at first to turn their loveteam into a relationship.
“Yes dati kasi may pressure talaga and we didn’t know how to handle it kasi sobrang bago pa namin. And na-overwhelm kami sa mga sinasabi ng mga fans, ng ibang tao kung ano ‘yung dapat gawin namin.”
However, she noted that both of them matured as artists.
“Pero at the end of the day, lalo na ngayon na tumanda kami kahit papaano ay natutunan namin na hindi pakinggan mga bosses na ‘yun. Sundin talaga kung ano gusto namin. And magkaroon ng thin line between work and personal life.”
Today, they are the mainstay hosts for ABS-CBN’s online talent competition, Bida Star. Together, they search for the next online singing sensation in Bida Star Singer.
Joining them is another Pinoy Big Brother alumna, Anji Salvacion.
The contestants of Bida Star Singerwould undergo training with ABS-CBN singing coach Anna Graham, Polaris, Reily Santiago, and a weekly celebrity guest judge from Polaris.
The prizes in store for the grand winner are an ABS-CBN management and recording contract, a special trophy, and a cash prize of P50,000.
Pinoy citizens, 18 years old and above and who have talent in singing, can audition to become the next Bida Star Singer until March 18, a Friday.
