Karen Davila and Jeff Canoy commemorated TV Patrol’s 35th anniversary through social media on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Davila said she feels honored to be part of TV Patrol and ABS-CBN News in a lengthy Instagram post.
Davila wrote, “35 YEARS of #TVPatrol [PH] #OnThisDay, March 2, 1987, was the pilot broadcast of what was to be the Philippines’ most iconic newscast.
“I was only 16 years old when TVPatrol first aired on ABSCBN, and now, 35 years later, I am here anchoring the newscast.
“I first co-anchored TV Patrol 2004-2010, but it has become more meaningful to be with the program at this time in ABSCBN’s history.
“Ano man ang mangyari, itinuturing kong isang malaking karangalan na maging bahagi ng programang ito at ng ABSCBN News.
“Always, in the service of the Filipino [PH] Salamat sa love guys! Sa hirap at ginhawa nandyan kayo.”

Davila joined the news program in 2004 after transferring from GMA Network. She returned as a regular anchor of the program in November 2021 to replace Noli de Castro.

He captioned, “Brick…news, not hearts.”

Aside from them, ABS-CBN resident meteorologist Ariel Rojas, Star Patrol anchor Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News reporter Anjo Bagaoisan, and presenter Zen Hernandez also celebrated TV Patrol’s 35th anniversary.
Rojas said, “It feels like I’ve come full circle now that I’m presenting the nightly weather report on TV Patrol. I literally grew up (being just a couple of months older) with the newscast (although it was only in 1995 that I was able to watch Patrol from our own TV set).
“It will never stop feeling surreal knowing that I work with the icons that Henry, Karen, Bernadette, Gretchen, Marc, Boyet, Winnie, & Migs are. My offscreen colleagues — producers, directors, segment producers, writers, editors, graphics artists, cameramen, lightmen, operators & technicians, makeup artists, support staff & assistants — are also the best at what they do. I am blessed & honored to be part of this wonderful production and the incredible milestone it celebrates today.
“To many more years of being in the service of the Filipino. Patuloy na maglilingkod sa inyo saan man sa mundo. #TVPatrol35 ❤️💚💙.”

TV Patrol is a Philippine television newscast produced by ABS-CBN News. It premiered on March 2, 1987, at the former ABS-CBN television network. It is the longest-running Filipino language evening newscast.
The program formerly aired on ABS-CBN until May 5, 2020, when the network was forced to cease and desist its broadcasting operations by orders of the National Telecommunications Commission after its legislative franchise expired on May 4.
TV Patrol currently broadcasts on cable and satellite via Kapamilya Channel, ANC, and TeleRadyo; on free-to-air television via A2Z; and online through the ABS-CBN News’ website, Facebook, iWantTFC, TFC IPTV, and Kapamilya Online Live.
