On March 23, actor JC de Vera became emotional while recalling the challenges Kapamilyas faced during the ABS-CBN Shutdown.
During the Showtime Kapamilya Contract Signing event, de Vera recounted what the network went through with the pandemic and its shutdown.
“Marami tayong pinagdaanang challenges, naiiyak ako sir di ko masabi. Hindi, kasi this past three years, everyone went through a lot.
He added that he remained faithful and loyal to ABS-CBN despite the challenges and uncertainty he felt.
“I remain faithful and loyal to them kasi nakita ko kung paano nila ipinaglaban ‘yung mga tao nila. Lahat kami. So that time, that was really challenging, lalo na rin sa akin kasi, ‘What’s next?’ Parang ‘yun ‘yung mahirap, kasi hindi rin namin alam what’s going to happen next. I thought na tapos na.”
He then considered his contract renewal with ABS-CBN as an answered prayer.
“So today noong sinabi talaga sa akin na mangyayari ‘to, ‘Wow, answered prayer.’
He then described his career with the Kapamilya network as fulfilling, citing that ABS-CBN helped him get recognized as an actor.
“2013 ‘yung unang apak ko sa ABS-CBN and masasabi ko talaga is very fulfilling siya. Why?
De Vera transferred to ABS-CBN in 2013 and starred in various Kapamilya productions such as The Legal Wife, Moon of Desire, The General’s Daughter, and La Vida Lena. He also became one of the main cast of the Kapamilya comedy show Banana Sundae.Â
Recently, he’s one of the judges in ‘It’s Showtime’s Sexy Babe segment.
As a result, he joined ‘Its Showtime’ mainstay hosts Ogie Alcasid and Vhong Navarro in signing their contract renewal with ABS-CBN.
