The sons of former president Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada, Jinggoy Estrada, and Jake Ejercito respect each other’s choices for the Presidential elections.
On Ogie Diaz’s vlog uploaded on March 7, Estrada and Ejercito got asked about their respective presidential bets.
Estrada is running for senator under the UniTeam led by Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio, while Jake is open about being a ‘Kakampink,’ who supports Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan.
The older Estrada immediately responded that it is not a problem if they have different political preferences.
“Opinyon niya yun, may sarili akong opinyon. Nagrerespetuhan kami. Kung dun siya sa kabila, dito ko sa kabila. Walang problema yun,” Jinggo said.
Jake thanked his Kuya Jinggoy for not restricting him regarding his political stance.
“Hinahayaan niya rin naman ako. He respects that I have my own opinion,” he said.
The younger Estrada also added that people should avoid canceling others just because of their political preferences because, in the end, they are of the same race–Filipinos.
“Wala naman ring masama eh. We all want the same thing in the end, di ba? Pilipino naman tayo lahat. Hindi naman kailangan yung cancel culture, hindi naman kailangan mag away away.”
Jinggoy then pointed out that he never encouraged Jake to transfer to his side.
“I never convince Jake to transfer to my Presidential candidate. Basta alam n’yo kung kanino ‘ko, pulang-pula. Siya rosas na rosas.
Ogie, who is also a ‘Kakampink’ quipped, “Baka idamay mo pa ako.”
Estrada reiterated that there is no problem as long as they respect each other.
Jinggoy and Jake are half-siblings. The former is the eldest son of Erap with Loi Estrada, while the latter is one of the children of Erap with Laarni Enriquez.
