The star of the phenomenal Web series He’s Into Her made a rare appearance, with his dad, at the recent Leni-Kiko grand rally in Ortigas Center on Sunday, March 20.
Vice-presidentiable Kiko Pangilinan may have missed the record-breaking Kakampink grand rally in Pasig, but his absence was well-compensated by two other Pangilinans, the father-and-son tandem of Anthony and Donny Pangilinan.
Both shared inspiring words and serenaded the crowd.
Motivational speaker and former news anchor, Anthony Pangilinan, took his brother Kiko’s place in convincing the crowd to vote for the Leni-Kiko duo in the 2022 polls. In his introduction, he proudly said “Ako po ang tunay na asawa ni Valerie (Maricel Laxa’s Mano Po Legacy role) at ama ng pamangkin ni Kiko” (I am the real husband of Valerie, and the father of Kiko’s nephew).
The said grand rally was attended by around 137,000 proud Kakampinks, the Pasig police department reported, while organizers claim a whopping 180,000 crowd, during the peak of the rally.
Robredo reminded the crowd to remember her partner, Kiko, who then was joining the Vice Presidential debate organized by the Commission of Elections.
The grand rally somewhat could be, so far the most ecstatic and most energetic crowd, as global smash songs became instant anthems during the event. American pop star, Ariana Grande, even reposted clips of the mammoth Kakampink crowd singing along her breakout single ‘Break Free’ on her Instagram stories. Sia’s Titanium and Katy Perry’s Roar, also rung across the wide boulevards of Ortigas, Pasig, where the event was held. Itchyworms also got the crowd jamming along with their biggest hit Akin Ka Na Lang.
Showbiz personalities also graced the event. Angel Locsin proudly showed her fangirl side when she interacted with Robredo. Hosts Jolina Magdangal, Julia Barretto, Robi Domingo, and Melai Cantiveros, were full of energy in making sure the flow of events went smoothly. OPM bands Ben&Ben and Rivermaya also rocked the stage.
It is Donny Pangilinan’s stage performance, however, that arguably made hearts swoon at the rally. The Kapamilya star delivered his cover of Brownman Revival’s hit Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal to the crowd’s pleasure. The event marked the first time the young Pangilinan, who is Kiko’s nephew from Anthony, was attending a Kakampink rally. Supporters are hoping the Pasiglaban won’t be his last.
