Darryl Yap proved that he earned cash via online bashing, as he shared it on a facebook post on Thursday, March 10.
Yap said that it made him buy a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, and he is thankful to the supporters of presidential aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo.
“Ako po ay nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga #Kakampink na bagamat sobrang talino at malilinis, ay nanonood pa rin ng aking mga basurang gawa,” he wrote.
Yap thanked those who runs the campaign of Robredo for spending millions on social media ads.
“Ako po ay pinakanagpapasalamat sa mga nagpapatakbo ng kampanya ni VP Leni Robredo dahil sa milyun-milyong piso ninyong nilulustay sa social media ads ay naambunan po kami ng daang libo,” he said.
“Maliit na halaga po para sa inyo pero malaki na po sa amin, kahit bawas na po ito ng BIR ay sobrang saya po namin, hindi lang kami kumita, nakapagpasaya na po kami ng maraming Pilipino, nakapang-asar pa ng konti; at higit sa lahat, nabigyan ko po ng regalo ang aking sarili,” Yap ended.
Yap is the director of the controversial series Kape Chronicles and The Exorcism of Len Len Rose. Many claimed that these were created to insult Robredo.
In an interview in April 2021, Yap admitted that bashing is equal to cash for a content creator like him. He said he notices the increase of engagement on his social media pages because of the bashers.
He shared, “I’m gonna be blatantly honest, for me as a content creator, bash is equal to cash. It’s as simple as that. Sa tingin mo ba sa cash hindi ako tititbay?!
“The bashing is a huge part of engagement. When you get bashed, you get tons of engagement.”
