On March 18, BGYO member Akira Morishita said he’s excited to show his talent in acting with his upcoming digital series, Bola Bola.
During the media conference for the iWantTFC original, Morishita expressed his excitement in landing a new acting project.
“Very exciting po, kasi ‘yun nga po, before nag-acting naman na po ako. Pero, ang tagal n’yang nahinto. So noong sinabi nga po ni Direk Lauren na ‘yun nga mayroon ngang project at ‘yun nga, acting ‘yun gagawin ko, sobrang na-excite po ako and natuwa and feel blessed po kasi nabigyan po ako ng tsansa na maipakita ‘yung skill kung pagdating sa pag-acting. Very happy po.”
He then talked about his adjustments as an artist, from being a BGYO member to an actor.
“Adjustments po? Sobrang laki kasi ilang years po ako na-stop sa pag-acting and mas nasanay po ako sa pagpe-perform po. Kumbaga, may acting sa performance, pero iba po ‘yung acting sa series or sa kung ano pa naman po.”
He also assessed that he has matured as an actor after years of being a performer.
“Sa acting prowess po, di ko po sure kung mas tumaas na ako, pero nabigay ko naman po ‘yung best ko. Siguro mas nag-mature po ‘yung way of thinking ko. Sa pag-intindi noong character ko doon sa series po. Very happy po ako kila KD and Francine. Kapag may eksena po binibigyan po nila ako ng tips.”
Before joining BGYO, Morishita appeared in several indie film projects such as Kalel, 15, ‘Tol, Alienasyon, and Rice Soldiers.
Now he stars in the iWantTFC original series based on Anna Geronga’s best-selling love romance, Bola Bola, alongside Francine Diaz, KD Estrada, and Ashton Salvador.
Joining them are Analain Salvador, Danica Ontengco, Vance Larena, J-Mee Katanyag, and Arlene Muhlach.
The digital series streams for free in the Philippines this March 26 on the iWantTFC app.
