On Friday, March 25, Kapuso star Bea Alonzo reveals she is nervous to begin taping for the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean series Start-Up.
In the press conference of Beautéderm, Alonzo admits, “Actually, kinakabahan ako kasi alam kong maraming naging fans ang Start-Up. Totoo may pressure.”
This also marks her first-ever project with GMA Network since transferring back in July 2021.
At the same time, she is also excited to work alongside Alden Richard and other Kapuso on the project.
“S’yempre dahil sa first time ko sa GMA, excited akong makilala yung mga bagong tao na mae-encounter ko sa GMA. I’m also looking forward to working with Alden. I’m looking forward to meeting new faces, and doing scenes with these people, and talented writers, and directors.”
The actress then assured that the adaptation will have its own Filipino flavor, adding, “But what I can promise you is that magkakaroon ito ng uniquely Filipino twist. Somehow may mga iba but I can’t tell you yet kung ano yung maiiba precisely. But may own flavor tayong idadagdag sa Start-Up.”
Start-Up was first broadcasted on the Korean network tvN, with Filipinos being able to watch it on Netflix in 2020. The show follows an aspirational young woman who aspires to be the next Steve Jobs. She’s torn between two men: the quiet tech start-up founder and a caustic team leader at another start-up.
The Kapuso version will also star Yasmin Kurdi and Jeric Gonzales.
Meanwhile, at age 34, Alonzo is not rushing to have a family of her own. She reasoned that she was just beginning her career as a Kapuso, dreaming of achieving more.
“Well darating din naman tayo diyan s’yempre. But sa ngayon parang hindi pa ‘yon ang circumstances ko, and sa ngayon, I have a lot of dreams to achieve pa rin. Ngayon nagsisimula pa lang ako sa GMA. I’m just about to do my first teleserye with them and I’m very much excited. So nagsisimula palang tayo. Parang malayo pa ang lalakbayin natin.”
The actress was at the Beautéderm press conference as its newest brand ambassadress for the wellness products REIKO Slimaxine and REIKO Fitox.
She now joins Maja Salvador, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Piolo Pascual as the brand ambassadors of Beautéderm.
