Are viewers losing interest in watching Saturday and Sunday TV programs?
Based on the March 19 and March 20 survey of AGB Nielsen, the viewership for weekend programs have dropped.
For March 19, the highest rating was only 11.1%, achieved by Magpakailanman, followed by Agimat ng Agila Season 2 with 10.8%. Other Saturday programs included in the Top 5 are Pepito Manaloto (9.5%), 24 Oras Weekend (7.9%), and Daddy’s Gurl (6.6%).
This rating of Magpakailanman is lower than the rating of the #1-weekday show 24 Oras which peaks at 16% to 18%.
For Sunday, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho is still the Most-Watched program with 15.9%. John Lloyd Cruz-starrer series Happy Together ranked 2nd with 13.9%, followed by Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko with 10.8% and 24 Oras Weekend with 10.2%. However, a huge gap between 24 Oras Weekend and Amazing Earth (5th) is recorded as the latter only earned a 4.7% rating.
The Top 5 programs for Saturday and Sunday are from the primetime lineup only. Also, only six programs recorded a double-digit rating, and the rest of the Top 20 programs scored below 10%.
Meanwhile, GMA Network programs dominate weekend programming. On Saturday, only one program came from TV5—Pilipinas Debates, while on Sunday, only one Kapamilya program joined the rating chart—ASAP Natin ‘To.
