Alex Gonzaga recalled when ABS-CBN executive Lauren Dyogi praised her.
Alex is currently a host in the TV5 variety show Lunch Out Loud. Prior to her to the TV5 network, she was with ABS-CBN for about a decade.
In her YouTube interview with Bianca Gonzalez on March 7, Alex shared some of her unforgettable achievements in her career.
One of the achievements that she shared was when Direk Lauren gave her positive feedback.
“Hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yung sinabi ni Direk Lauren na tinap niya ko na parang, ‘Uy congrats. Continue making hits like that, ‘yung ‘Chambe.’ Sabi ko, ‘Hala, first time ever tinap niya ko,’” she said.
The song ‘Chambe’ is Alex’s hit single in 2018 that was inspired by Seve, the son of her sister Toni.
Alex then shared that her hit single was not really the turning point of her career.
“Everything was new so hindi mo talaga masasabi na, ‘Yeah, it’s like the best song,’ kasi nga, first, it’s still my sister. It’s still my inaanak, my pamangkin, so okay lang. Hindi siya ‘yung game changer for me,” she said.
